Our new manufacturing company is making the much loved Hampshire Sheen Gloss Finishing Wax for us now to the exact same recipe as turners around the world have been loving for nearly five years. With their decades of chemical experience, we can now say that this wax meets food contact and toy safety regulations in the UK, EU, USA, Canada, South Africa and Australia.
Using high quantities of carnauba and microcrystalline waxes, this product is an extremely hard wearing finish, outlasting a beeswax based finish many times over.
By applying in light coats, your finish can be brought from a lustre, right the way up to a bright gloss with a warm and tactile ‘Pow’
It has a stiff texture and may appear’ crumbly’ in the tin at times (particularly in cold weather). This is perfectly normal due to the very high wax-to-solvent ratio. When used correctly, you need less of the product than you may think to achieve a fantastic quality finish.
Uses Use for the finishing of decorative and functional wood-turned items on a lathe. It can also be used on ‘flat’ woodwork using a polishing mop to buff.
Colour and Aroma Creamy yellow in the tin. Characteristic aroma of solvents and waxes.
Container They are supplied in a lacquer lined tin with 130g of product inside.
Storage Store in a cool, dry place, ideally between 10° and 30°C (50° and 90°F) Where possible. Protect from extreme heat and freezing. Keep out of direct sunlight.
Longevity – Use By Kept according to instructions, you can expect the product to last around two years from opening, depending on how often it is used.
